Dear Church Family,
We want to thank you for your patience and faithfulness over the past several weeks, as we have been navigating a new and uncertain season of ministry during the coronavirus pandemic. Although we have not been able to meet in person for worship or ministry activities, Maywood has not been closed. We continue to seek to live and proclaim the gospel. Christ’s claim on our hearts has not changed. Thank you for the ways in which you have served and contributed to our ongoing mission.
The Leadership Team met this week to discuss how we might move forward toward regathering for worship and ministry. In light of our discussion, here are the next steps we plan to take.
· We will meet on Zoom for worship this coming Sunday, May 31, at 10:30 AM, and then again on June 7, at 10:00 AM (note summer schedule change). Click here for more details about the upcoming Zoom services.
· Beginning June 14, we plan to hold outdoor worship services, starting at 10:00 AM, in the parking lot at church. This will be Phase One of Regathering. These services will continue at least through the end of June. We plan to make the services a safe place, and we will follow state guidelines for worshiping in outdoor settings. More specific details will follow in the next week or so.
We know that there are numerous opinions on what a regathering plan should look like. But we also know that getting swept up in our disagreements will not be beneficial to us individually, nor as a community of faith. So let’s be respectful of one another, and quick to extend grace, striving to keep the unity of the spirit. We will get through this. Let’s stay together!
Toward the end of June, the Leadership Team will provide details on the next phase of regathering. Please continue to be in prayer as we seek to act in safe, responsible and God-honoring ways.
Serving with you,
Maywood Leadership Team
